Sometimes, its just too much. Where I wonder for hours, why you are so far away. Why you aren’t here next to me, where you belong. Why me. Why couldn’t I meet someone who lived by me. The other side of the bed feels too cold, too lonely. My hands have nothing to hold, and my heart has nothing to skip for. I sit and wait for your text messages, or a call to hear your voice; anything to remind me, why I’m still holding on. 

But when we do close our distance, life is pretty amazing. I am reminded by your smile that the wait was well worth it. And running into your arms, like a homecoming, feels so right. My lips finally get to meet yours again. My senses seem to come alive, and so do I. The smell of you, lingers in the air and feels almost like its wrapping around me. I take my time to absorb every bit of it. And when we desperately make love, as if it were the last time, I’m taken to another world. Our overlapped skin creates a kind of warmth my blanket could never achieve, leaving me with a sense of home and security. Yet at the same time, every cell in my body feels electric. And I know that love is no distance.
